Magnum Digital Solutions is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Hewlett-Packard to help commercial printers unlock the full productivity of high-speed inkjet web presses.
As inkjet press speeds climb, finishing too often becomes the limiting factor. Print providers can invest in powerful press technology on the front end, only to see throughput stall downstream when slitting, folding, cutting, gluing, or stacking can’t keep pace. This partnership brings together HP’s leadership in high-speed inkjet printing with Magnum’s high-speed digital finishing solutions—purpose-built to eliminate the digital finishing bottleneck in commercial print production.

“HP is committed to helping print service providers run faster, smarter, and more profitably,” said an executive at Hewlett-Packard. “By partnering with Magnum Digital Solutions, we’re extending that promise beyond the press. Magnum’s finishing technology is engineered to match the performance of high-speed inkjet web presses, so customers can confidently move from print to finished product with less waste, less downtime, and more uptime.”
At the center of the collaboration is Magnum’s ability to keep pace with the rated speed of today’s high-speed inkjet web platforms. Magnum finishing equipment can slit, fold, cut, glue, and stack signatures at astounding speeds up to 833 fpm (254 m/min), enabling true end-to-end production flow without compromising quality.
The FlexBook 2S—Magnum’s flagship finishing system for book block production—has been designed to maximize press uptime through automation. Changeover from one size to another can take place automatically using a touchscreen interface, with setup adjustments actuated by a network of computer-controlled servo motors. This reduces manual intervention, shortens makeready, and keeps the press producing revenue instead of waiting on finishing.
The partnership also emphasizes smarter production control. Operators can take advantage of real-time proofing that occurs during the print stream and doesn’t disrupt production—supporting faster verification, fewer surprises, and more consistent output across long runs.
The result is neatly squared book blocks, ready-to-go inline or offline on existing binding equipment. Whether producing books, manuals, educational materials, or other signature-based applications, print providers gain a workflow that is faster, more reliable, and easier to scale.
Together, HP and Magnum are delivering a streamlined, high-speed ecosystem that helps printers take on more work, hit tighter deadlines, and capture new opportunities in a competitive market with confidence, day after day.
